How will we do that?

When you come to Common Good, you will experience a pharmacy run differently from what you’ve experienced before. We place the needs of our clients above all else. We want to take the time to listen to your needs and offer honest, evidence-based care of the highest quality.

Our appointment-based system allows you to access the expertise of a pharmacist without feeling rushed. You’re always welcome to drop by, but if you need a little more time, book an appointment so we can help.

We are also deeply committed to creating good in the community. We partner with local organizations who are making a positive difference in West Kelowna. We want to act in a way that contributes to our community flourishing, and shows care for the environment.

How Did We Get Here

The founders of Common Good spent many years working as pharmacists in other pharmacies built on the traditional model of care. They joined forces with a shared desire to restructure pharmacy care so that clients are at the core of the model, not profit.

About The Owners

Chris Carter

BSc. Pharmacy, RPh. FOUNDER

Chris Carter is a co-founder and pharmacist at Common Good Pharmacy. Chris has been a pharmacist since 2010. He and his family of 4 have been living in West Kelowna since 2015. After working several years as a franchisee/manager at a large chain pharmacy, Chris decided that a change was needed. By moving to an independent pharmacy model, Chris has been able to achieve his dream of creating a pharmacy that is truly a positive force in the community. Chris’ passion for helping people and protecting the environment have come alive in Common Good Pharmacy. Vanessa Ojala

BSc. Pharmacy, RPh, NCMP, FOUNDER

Vanessa Ojala has had a passion for pharmacy since she was young. Since graduating in 2012, she has pursued a more active role in women’s health. She is the only pharmacist in the Okanagan that is certified as a North American Menopause Practitioner. Vanessa loves to collaborate with other healthcare professionals who care for and support women through this unique season of life. Vanessa loves working as an accessible and involved community pharmacist.  Her husband, Austin, and 4 children live in Summerland where they love to play soccer, the piano, read, and go for long walks in the orchards. Austin Ojala

BSc. Pharmacy, RPh. FOUNDER

Austin Ojala is a co-founder and pharmacist at Common Good Pharmacy. Austin has been a pharmacist since 2012. Austin and his family of 6 have called the Okanagan home since 2014 when he started working as the franchisee, operator and pharmacy manager for a corporate chain pharmacy. Austin is passionate about business that does good. Common Good Pharmacy is the realization of a dream to design a pharmacy business model that pursues excellent pharmacy care and the flourishing of a community. When Austin is not at work you can find him playing soccer in his backyard with his 4 kids, reading a book or outside on a run. Renée Beaulieu

Design Coordinator

Renée has a passion for design and construction, but most of all people. She appreciates the personal relationship she builds with each of our clients, and is honoured to be a part of their new home journey.

Fluent in French and English, Renée graduated with a Bilingual Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the UofA. She also made the Dean’s List and received two scholarships when completing the Architectural Technology Diploma at NAIT. In her spare time she loves reading, music, cooking, painting and hanging out with friends.
